for Ash & Nick
Katikati New Build
Our Straight Up Builders team built a modern, custom family home for Ash and Nic and their three kids in rural Katikati. Designed by Troy and engineered by Nathan at NG Structural, this home is spacious yet simple, with raked ceilings and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and lounge.
One of the standout features of this project was the incorporation of concrete tilt panels with a wood-grain effect, which we built ourselves on site. We achieved this by using sawn timber in the boxing, allowing the concrete to mimic the timber's natural texture. This is a specialised and methodical process, which we were proud to handle ourselves.
The new build included four bedrooms, a media room, and plenty of space for family living. The build took approximately 9 to 10 months to complete, including time dedicated to pouring and curing the concrete panels.
After finishing the home, Ash and Nic asked us back to build matching concrete gate posts. This was really rewarding as we always value building a connection with clients who trust us to help with their future projects.
