Building a new home is a big decision. We aim to make the process smooth and enjoyable by offering straightforward advice and clear communication with you, your architect, and your interior designer.

Our team at Straight Up Builders Tauranga is experienced in building all types of new homes in Tauranga, from architectural homes to family-friendly designs and second dwellings, such as granny flats and large sheds.

We are Licensed Building Practitioners (LBP) and members of New Zealand Certified Builders (NZCB). We can also offer the Halo 10-Year Residential Guarantee, which provides extra peace of mind by protecting your new home, long after the build is complete.

Our process

You contact us

To get started on your custom new home, contact us to discuss your ideas, arrange a site visit, and show us your council-approved plans.

Recommend

If you need plans, we'll recommend a draftsman or architect who’s best suited to your specific build and the style you’re after.

Budget

We’ll work with you and your designer early on, offering input on building costs and expectations to help keep your plans on budget.

Consent

The next step is submitting an application for building consent at the appropriate Council. Once approved we can start the build.

Construction begins

Our project manager will keep you updated throughout the build with regular progress reports and site meetings. And join us for Friday beers to get to know the team!

Completion

Once your home is complete, we'll walk you through your home and tick off the final details of the completion process. We remain available for you as you need us.
